Christmas Tree Farm, 2025

Every spring growing up I’d spend a few days helping my Grandpa plant hundreds of baby firs and spruces that would eventually be sold as Christmas trees about 7 years later. After planting them in rows, he’d pay me $20 and I was happy. The funny thing is, my Grandpa has been selling these Christmas trees for the same price of $15 for the last 40 years. And they were even cheaper before that. While this scene isn’t exactly how our Christmas tree farm looks, it certainly pays tribute to it by featuring our historic 1864 barn, the old stone row just before the tree line, and the $15 price tag on the trees. I made this piece to honor the timeless and nostalgic tradition of picking out the perfect Christmas tree.
