Sequoiadendron giganteum was the first of my botanical studies and I created it as a gift for my boyfriend because it is his favorite tree. Painting this piece was so much fun for me as a botany student because I learned about the tree’s ecology, anatomy, and physiology while designing it. I fell in love with botanical studies because they combine my love for painting with my interest in botany.
