This painting is based on a photo I took after hiking to the top of Cadillac Mountain for sunrise on the summer solstice. This location is the first part of the continental U.S. to see the sun each morning! At the time, I was a summer student researcher at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor where I studied neural circuits involved during recovery from PTSD.
