Cadillac Mountain, Acadia National Park, ME, 2022

This painting was based off a photo I took after hiking to the top of Cadillac Mountain for sunrise on the summer solstice. The hike was part of a fundraiser to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s research where we stayed awake from sunrise to sunset on the longest day of the year. Then, I was a summer student researcher at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor where I studied neural circuits involved during recovery from PTSD.
