Flowering Dogwood, 2024

This painting represents much of my identity, my family, and my values. I was raised on a farm called Dogwood Acres Nursery, founded by my grandparents in 1962 in Upper Bucks County. Every spring, the forest surrounding the farm would turn white with native dogwood blooms. I spent much of my childhood learning from my Grandpa how to grow and cultivate. I owe my love for botany and all things natural to these formative experiences, which I’ll be eternally grateful for. As our farm’s namesake, the dogwood tree represents nature, the art of horticulture, and the importance of family.
